I am testing remote it, but can not get it to connect using the web site. device is online but when i try to connect always falls. i check my firewall logs and it seems to be using a random port from there end. Opening a large pool of port on you firewall in this day and age is just plain stupid. how can i force it to use the same port every time

You should not have to open up ports on your firewall unless your running a very restrictive corporate firewall. Home routers an machine specific firwealls as long as the allow outbound traffic should allow you to use [remote.it](http://remote.it). [Remote.it](http://Remote.it) requires no “inbound” ports to operate. If you are restricting output traffic then you can run into problems, but once again that only likely in a large corporate firewall setting.

If you device is online, you should be able to make a connection to it, if you file a support ticket we can diagnose it for you. There you can share a bit more about your setup (which firewall, whether the device is behind CGNAT, what service you’re trying to connect to), I can give you a more targeted answer.
