I am testing remote it, but can not get it to connect using the web site. device is online but when i try to connect always falls. i check my firewall logs and it seems to be using a random port from there end. Opening a large pool of port on you firewall in this day and age is just plain stupid. how can i force it to use the same port every time
You should not have to open up ports on your firewall unless your running a very restrictive corporate firewall. Home routers an machine specific firwealls as long as the allow outbound traffic should allow you to use remote.it. Remote.it requires no “inbound” ports to operate. If you are restricting output traffic then you can run into problems, but once again that only likely in a large corporate firewall setting.
If you device is online, you should be able to make a connection to it, if you file a support ticket we can diagnose it for you. There you can share a bit more about your setup (which firewall, whether the device is behind CGNAT, what service you’re trying to connect to), I can give you a more targeted answer.
