Hi. Is it possible to install on an asuswrt-merlin router?
(Broadcom BCM4908 (ARM Cortex A53))
If so, how?
Thanks.
It hasn’t been tested. You can try to run the test first.
sh -c "$(curl -L https://downloads.remote.it/remoteit/distributiontest.sh)"
If that works, then you can proceed to install Remote. It by clicking the + on app.remote.it and selecting OpenWRT.
If that doesn’t work because you cannot install Remote. It directly on the device which needs to support a connection to it such as some IP cameras or control panels or incompatible devices, you can install remote.it on a device on the same LAN such as an OpenWRT or Raspberry Pi. We call this a jumpbox and other devices and ports would be a jump service.
Instructions for this can be found here: Network Services - Jump Box
Did this work? I’m running an Asus RT-AX88U [ Broadcom BCM4908KFEBG CPU] and am keen to get this going to access my internal network. My provider uses CGNAT so my old Port Forwarding doesn’t work. I use Remote.it to access a DSM NAS box, but that’s not idea. I’d love to be able to VPN in somehow. Ideas?
Typically Remote. It is a singular port exposures. You can try using Wireguard with Remote. It to connect.
Alternatively, you could use the jump box configuration. When you cannot install Remote. It directly on the device which needs to support a connection to it such as some IP cameras or control panels, you can install remote.it on a device on the same LAN such as an OpenWRT or Raspberry Pi. We call this a jumpbox and other devices and ports would be a jump service.
Instructions for this can be found here: https://link.remote.it/support/jumpbox
Then whoever or whatever needs to make a connection to the service needs to use Remote. It to access it.
