WE have a testing enviroment.
3 android phones (MOto g Android 14)
All three are on the same network and wifi.
Only 1 will connect to ScreenView.
We have to disconnect and reconnect until hitting the correct proxy server to get a connection.
Else it would spin and spin forever. Never showing phone desktop.
Very unreliable for critical apps or enterprise applications.
Any fix or known issues.
“We have to disconnect and reconnect until hitting the correct proxy server to get a connection.” - This statement doesn’t make sense. You should be given a unique url and port for each connection. Proxy connections only last for 8 hours or 15 min after last activity whichever comes first and is bound to the device which used it (in other words, you cannot share them) unless it is a public web url.
If you are a business or enterprise customer, please contact customer support so that we can troubleshoot this with you.
We have multiple phone on same wifi network. (NO cell data)
We assume that each unit would have unique endpoint proxy.
BUt we can never get all three phone to connect via screenview.
It connects bet spin forever and never shows the screen.
Peer to peer connections impossible with application.
Via web we get a connection if we lucky.
Random reconnect to different proxy until get a good connection.
Any trouble shooting advise?
There are some network conditions which will prevent a peer to peer connection, most of them with cellular networks, but can also occur on other networks where you have hairpinning or other issues. Hairpinning is a common problem encountered when devices on the same local network try to connect to each other using an external or public IP address. This is known as a hairpin condition, where the network address translation (NAT) is unable to properly route the traffic back into the internal network.
When you use the web application (app.remote.it), you will always get a proxy connection.
The behavior you are describing with failure to connect with some proxies sounds like there may be a firewall issue involved. I am going to send you a direct message with the firewall information to check this.
