Failed Connection from my Linux Computer

I’m trying to get connected through a different computer than I usually use, and it’s running Ubuntu Studio 24.04.1 Linux. I can’t connect from my Linux laptop. My windows machine can still connect, but I want to be able to do it with this laptop. I hit the same buttons in your app as before, and I think it created a variation on the connection info, and the remote machine doesn’t accept the password from the Linux machine.
I’m including a screenshot trying to get into SSH.

I have always been getting into your program, and controlling my remote Raspberry Pi easily using the SSH and VNC (RealVNC) on the Pi, and working from a Windows machine. Trying to do this same thing from my Linux machine doesn’t work.

This takes me to a command line interface, but it doesn’t accept my password and I get stopped at the point indicated on the screenshot. It also creates a new (different?) address for the login (?) and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

According to the screenshot you are signing into the pi as the user XXXXXXX@gmail.com which I am guessing doesn’t exist. Usually the username is “pi” or a single name and not an email address.
Now that you have set the username in Remote. It for the connection, you may need to fix that. See this article on setting these configurations. Connection Configurations. See the second video since you only want to set the user name on the one device.
Quick instructions:

  1. Click on the service
  2. In the right panel, click on “Connection configuration”.
  3. Scroll down to the username and edit it, then click the blue checkmark.
  4. Click the back arrow next to “Connection configuration” at the top
  5. Launch your connection again

About the different url from the Linux computer:
When you make a connection on the Web Portal, the connection is a proxy with a unique url and will close in 15 minutes if there is inactivity or after 8 hours, whichever comes first. After a connection closes, then it will require you to start a new connection which will give you a new url and port.

If you would like to create connections from your computer which will be consistent from day to day, please install the Remote. It Desktop application. For your Linux computer, we offer these 3 versions Remote. It Download Full List

These connections are not shareable but they do allow bookmarking for a single user and will re-connect on demand as long as you do not quit the Desktop App or close the connection
