ive managed to set up a remote conection but its asking for a password no matter what i type in it wont work any idears ? ive tried my password for my account as well as the default one
On your dietpi is there a user negg? and your using that password?
The default DietPi credentials are:

root -
Password:
dietpi
DietPi has two accounts by default — “root” and “dietpi” — and on first boot, both share the global password “dietpi” DietPi (or whatever you set in dietpi.txt before first boot).
You’ll be prompted to change the password during the initial setup wizard. It’s a good idea to do so, especially if you have SSH enabled.
So likely if you did not create a specific user negg, your trying to log into a user that does not exist.
Probably want user root@ or dietpi@
