Raspberry Pi SD card transfer

I am building a replacement SD card at home which will be taken to a Pi a distance away.

If I install remote.it on the card, will it still work? The remote Pi has a different IPA, and different IP addresses, both internal and external.

There is no inherent problem with moving a registered SD card to another device. It is likely that the new Device will be detected as a clone of the original, meaning a new Device entry will be created and the old one will go offline forever until you delete it.

The other risk you run is that the target location’s firewall may have restrictions on outgoing UDP which would prevent correct operation of the remote.it system. You can check this at the time of installation by running this command on the device’s console:

/usr/share/remoteit/connectd -n
