If your getting the “you must be signed in to perform this operation” there seems to be a bug in detecting an expired login token. This should be fixed next release, but for now please sign out and sign back in.
Also if you have no /etc/remoteit it can cause this problem on non windows computers, in this case you can:
sudo mkdir -p /etc/remoteit
then signout/signin in desktop
